Bridget O’Connor thought she’d be Jane Pauly or Connie Chung sitting as the lead anchor on the evening news, but life, and the desire to be in the story, not just report it, led her to a world of storytelling and creating growth through marketing, communications and public relations. After gaining experience in public relations and marketing communications, O’Connor was prompted to dive into change management and organizational communication.
“I have an inner drive to make things happen and to connect the dots,” said O’Connor. “I want to lift leaders and their organizations up so they can do more and be more.”
By the age of 40, O’Connor had a desire to bring her rich experiences together to create her own company, so with her savings, she took the leap and launched O’Connor Connective in 2013.
O’Connor Connective, LLC, is a strategic marketing and communications consultancy connecting people and organizations to innovative results. O’Connor Connective offers strategy that communicates for community-minded leaders and their organizations.
Since the company began, O’Connor Connective has differentiated itself in the market, focusing on strategy first and then using that strategy to inform the communications. O’Connor has established a successful niche in helping organizations create and implement fundraising initiatives, helping to raise more than $45 million for other organizations. In addition, she joined together with University of Wisconsin – Green Bay to launch the Schreiber Institute for Women’s Leadership where O’Connor was named the first executive in resident.
“In our work, we must listen. To our clients. To the community. To the team,” said O’Connor. “It’s often what we hear that motivates us to be more strategic, more creative and more impactful.”
What keeps O’Connor coming back for more is that the work her firm performs makes a difference in the lives of the organizations it helps to brand and communicate. “I see connection where others might not,” she said.
