Terrence L Evans

President & Chief Executive Officer

Location: Atlanta, Georgia

Founded: 2009

Industry: Government Contracting

Terrence L. Evans grew up on Chicago’s tough South Side and knew early on he wanted a better life. He joined the U.S. Army and served during the Gulf War. Afterward, he became the first person in his family to earn a college degree.

Evans gained experience in management roles at Fortune 500 companies and, after earning an MBA, shifted to serve as a contracting officer’s representative for the Department of State. That job served as the impetus for the company he would eventually start, TJFACT LLC.

“While establishing my company came with many bumps and bruises, I never wavered in my thinking that I could make it happen,” Evans said. “No disappointment, setback, or naysayer was going to convince me otherwise. Taking this risk was critical, because it taught me that I had the grit to see things through, which is essential for leadership in times where business conditions may not be ideal.”

TJFACT provides staff to federal government clients in several service areas, including program management, healthcare, IT, administration and training. With more than 300 employees worldwide, TJFACT serves numerous U.S. federal agencies, including the State Department, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Department of Defense, Department of Justice and Department of Homeland Security.

TJFACT has grown from $6 million in annual revenue in 2015 to a projected $46 million by the end of 2022; it is projected to reach $75 million in revenue by 2023. That performance has landed TJFACT on the Inc. 5000, a list of America’s Fastest Growing Companies. For the past three years, TJFACT has risen up the list, breaking the top 1,000 in 2021.

For the past seven years, the company’s employees have voted TJFACT the Best Place to Work by the Best and Brightest. Evans was honored as Philanthropist of the Year by the National Contract Management Association’s Atlanta Chapter in 2022.

“The accomplishment Terrence is most proud of is Be the Dash, a nonprofit that enables him to expand his mission to give back and serve the community,” Evans’ team said.

Be the Dash provides mentorship to at-risk kids, teaching life skills and lessons through the game of golf; it urges voter engagement by underserved people, who are educated on their right to vote and provided with transportation to the polls, empowering them to change their communities; and it offers college scholarships. More than $100,000 in academic scholarships have been provided to graduating seniors preparing to attend accredited colleges and universities.
