As a two-time Titan 100 at the helm of a janitorial company specializing in green cleaning processes, Paul Sarzoza has led the company’s commitment to growth and adaptability to market conditions. “Embracing a forward-thinking approach, we’ve consistently sought innovative initiatives to not only meet but exceed industry standards,” said Sarzoza.

Verde Clean is a minority-owned facilities services company with a primary focus on janitorial services, floor care programs, construction cleaning, power washing and window cleaning.

To foster growth, Sarzoza has led his team to invest in cutting-edge technologies to enhance the cleaning process and minimize environmental impact. Recognizing the importance of diversity in the workforce, the company has prioritized inclusivity and empowerment, championing minority representation and contributing to social equity.

“My greatest leadership lesson has been the significance of fostering a diverse and inclusive workplace culture while developing emerging leaders,” said Sarzoza. “Ensuring that candidates for janitorial services, especially emerging leaders from college, not only possess the necessary skills but also resonate with the company’s intrinsic values has proven to be crucial.”

Under Sarzoza’s leadership, the company has developed robust processes, key performance indicators, and comprehensive training programs for safety and quality to maintain high standards across business locations. “Ultimately, this leadership journey has reinforced the need for strategic thinking, cultural alignment, and a commitment to continuous improvement in building and sustaining a successful custodial business,” he said.

Sarzoza has also actively engaged in mentoring the next generation of titans in the past year. He provides guidance for the journey of future professionals and actively participates in community service projects to create positive impacts on a broader scale. “Sharing the Verde story becomes valuable as it not only highlights our achievements but also serves as a blueprint for others aiming to make a meaningful impact in their respective fields,” he said.

One major accomplishment for the company and Sarzoza was being awarded TSMC and receiving recognition from the POTUS at the State of the Union in Washington, D.C.

As a leader, Sarzoza said he prioritizes building strong relationships with the community, upholds the highest standards in all business practices to ensure trust and credibility, and relies on strong communication to articulate the company’s vision.

“As a minority-owned business, promoting diversity, equity and inclusion is vital,” said Sarzoza. “Leaders should be empathetic, understanding the unique challenges faced by employees and customers from diverse backgrounds, and actively work to create an inclusive environment,” he said.
