Murphy Robinson

Chief Executive Officer

Seca Secure

Location: Littleton

Founded: 2018

Industry: Electronic Security / Low Voltage

Murphy Robinson, while serving as the deputy mayor and executive director of the Department of Public Safety and chief operating officer for the City and County of Denver, started Seca Secure from his dining room table. His first clients were his neighbors and family members. He spent nights and weekends learning how to install alarms and cameras in residential and commercial buildings, installing the first 25 systems himself.

In January 2022, Robinson left his post as the deputy mayor and public safety director of Denver, and within one year, Seca Secure was able to accomplish $1.5 million in revenue and open a second office in New Mexico.

Seca Secure is a commercial security services and consulting firm with a mission to provide peace of mind through trusting partnerships with its employees, clients and the community. The company aims to help protect people and their assets to foster the long-term success of the community.

As a commercial low-voltage electronic security and network integrator, Seca Secure provides alarms, cameras and access control to many of Colorado’s top companies and high-profile individuals. The firm partners with businesses large and small, hotels, airports, schools, churches and local governments across Colorado and New Mexico to provide valuable infrastructure security services.

“Murphy stands as a pillar in both the business and security sectors, carving out a legacy defined by visionary leadership, strategic acumen and an unwavering commitment to excellence,” said his staff. “He has consistently demonstrated an extraordinary ability to navigate the intricate landscapes of the business world, leaving an indelible mark on every enterprise he has been a part of.”

Many of Robinson’s strategic initiatives have set industry standards since he prioritizes cutting-edge technology and innovation to transform the security practices of his clients. Whether it’s implementing state-of-the-art surveillance systems or pioneering advanced risk mitigation measures, Robinson has adopted a holistic approach that encompasses risk management, crisis response and the integration of emerging technologies.

His efforts have led to recognition as a 40 Under 40 by the Denver Business Journal and the recipient of the Magis Award from Xavier University.

Taking risks is a key part of leading others, said Robinson. “You must be willing to stick your neck out and take a chance on yourself,” he said. “Multiple times throughout my career, I made an unorthodox decision that ultimately led to furthering and advancing my career – whether it was quitting my job as a police officer to become an intern or leaving my post as deputy mayor and public safety director to start my business, sticking your neck out and betting on yourself is one of the hardest things you could ever do, but will yield great rewards.”
