In the past year since Suj Mehta was named a Titan 100, his greatest accomplishment has been helping guide TekniPlex through some of the most challenging economic environments in recent history by executing key strategic priorities such as closing on a major healthcare acquisition. “In the face of these formidable challenges, I spearheaded major cost-cutting initiatives and led a comprehensive reorganization effort,” said Mehta. “It was vital to ensure that our workforce remained motivated and positioned to seize opportunities for profitability as conditions improved.”

Despite the adversity, Mehta led his team to achieve a significant milestone by executing a major strategic acquisition of a pivotal med-tech company. “This achievement demonstrates our ability to adapt, innovate and thrive even in the face of unprecedented challenges,” said Mehta. “I’m excited about the positive trajectory we are on and confident in our ability to continue to drive success in the future at TekniPlex.”

TekniPlex provides materials science solutions to the world’s largest healthcare and consumer brands, delivering better patient outcomes, protecting products and strengthening brands. Under Mehta’s leadership, the firm continues to invest heavily in growth-focused initiatives deploying significant capital expenditures and acquiring new companies to position the company to take advantage of improving conditions in the coming year.

As a leader, Mehta said his greatest leadership lesson learned this year was the importance of communication and providing clear direction and guidance to peers and colleagues. “Beyond executive alignment, I emphasize the importance of continued alignment across the entire organization and among cross-functional teams,” he said. “By staying connected and engaged, we can collectively navigate challenges, leverage opportunities, and drive progress toward our shared objectives.”

Mehta has also focused on continued mentorship of peers. Internally, he has championed a robust mentorship program aimed at identifying and grooming high-performing individuals within the organization. This program pairs talented individuals with experienced mentors who can provide guidance, support and valuable insights.

Externally, Mehta is involved in youth-based organizations, such as TORCH, to create opportunities for the next generation to develop essential skills, gain exposure to leadership principles and build valuable networks. “By cultivating talent internally and engaging with youth-focused organizations externally, I am committed to empowering and inspiring the next generation of titans in our industry,” he said. “Together, we can cultivate a pipeline of capable and visionary leaders who will drive innovation, excellence and positive change in the years to come.”
