Rebecca Coren - Wambi

Rebecca Coren

Co-Founder

Wambi

Location: Bryn Mawr, PA

Founded: 2016

Industry: Healthcare

In 2016, Rebecca Coren’s cousin, Alexandra Coren, was working in an in-patient setting and had the idea for Wambi as a solution to the ever-present burnout and retention challenges her organization faced. Rebecca Coren joined her cousin in launching the beta of Wambi and observed that this in-house solution had the potential to be so much more.

As children of parents who suffered from chronic illnesses, both began to envision the impact Wambi could have on patients and family members. “At the end of the year, we broke out Wambi as its own offering with the goal of changing the healthcare narrative for patients, loved ones and employees alike,” said Coren. “My life’s work has focused on the core belief that each moment has the potential to change the world.”

Wambi is the first comprehensive culture platform that engages all people in a healthcare experience, including patients and loved ones. Proven to increase engagement, retain staff, and strengthen patient trust, Wambi engages both patients and healthcare professionals in one place where moments are celebrated, and deeper connections are formed.

Described as a change-maker and healthcare advocate, Coren said she has a mission to leverage technology to prioritize human connection and create a more compassionate world. “Between her unique perspective on the industry and professional background spanning sales, technology and law, Rebecca brings a wealth of experience and insight to her work,” said her staff. “Under Rebecca’s leadership, the Wambi platform has grown as a game-changing resource that empowers healthcare workers and transforms the patient experience in one comprehensive solution.”

As a female co-founder in technology and healthcare, Coren is also dedicated to inspiring other young leaders to realize their own potential through mentorship and advocacy. She is the founder of a group for female healthcare executives and interviews diverse healthcare leaders to elevate their stories on her podcast, Moments Move Us.

As a leader, Coren said she leads with empathy. “Recalibrate your priorities regularly while staying disciplined to follow your North Star,” she said. “Know your personal values and live by them, and always prioritize your people.”

Coren said if she could give her younger self advice, it would be to embrace who you are while keeping a growth mindset. “Your path will wind in directions you never expected,” said Coren. “Lean into every opportunity and say yes as much as you can. Learn from those you admire, but don’t waste your energy trying to fit a mold.”
