As a titan of industry and a Titan 100 Hall of Fame inductee, Pat Coleman advises future leaders to be a blessing to others, get involved and collaborate. “Let nothing stop you from investing in yourself and recognize there is another generation coming behind you, so be intentional in reaching back and bringing others forward with you,” she said.

This has been her approach as a leader throughout her career and through a recent change from the CEO of Behavioral Health Response (BHR) to more recently, the vice president of diversity, equity and inclusion at Alberici, a diversified construction company that partners with leading organizations throughout North America to build their most challenging and important projects.

“With a supportive board of directors, I held up to the succession plan that was put in place for BHR and hired and groomed COO Tiffany Lacy Clark who succeeded me as CEO of BHR in May 2023,” said Coleman. “Leaving BHR healthy financially and organizationally helped me to make the decision to move on and let the next generation of leadership take the organization to another level.”

A new chapter now begins in her role at Alberici where Coleman said she continues leading with her heart for diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging. “My vision at work is to support and lead Alberici, where one of its core values is to have a workplace where we foster a diverse workforce and support women and minority-owned businesses,” Coleman said. “Personally, I continue to contribute my heart and leadership skills to the St. Louis community and beyond.”

Coleman feels a responsibility to give back and mentor others where she can. She maintains an open-door policy at work. She said that she walks through the office and seeks out conversations with members of her team to let them know they are valued. Coleman also has a passion for mentoring young Black women, she said.

“When I see a young leader embracing my leadership development and suggestions, it energizes me to do more,” Coleman said.

Her passion for fostering others continues at Alberici where valuing diversity is a core value. “It speaks to me in a way that synergizes with the core of who I am,” said Coleman. “With more women, minorities and Gen Z coming into the construction industry, I will be able to ensure a solid framework is set so that Alberici will attract and retain a diverse workforce.”

Her accomplishments as a leader and as an inspiration to the St. Louis community has earned Coleman a place in the Titan 100 Hall of Fame.
