Christy Lukach joined Brightstar Capital Partners as a vice president in 2019 and in just four years, she has ascended to become the firm’s chief financial officer and chief compliance officer and a member of the investment committee.

When Lukach was hired at Brightstar Capital Partners, the firm did not have a finance team. She moved to St. Louis to build a team that currently consists of eight other individuals. “She has demonstrated her ability to build and lead a high-performing team,” said her staff. “This talent is crucial for developing a cohesive, efficient and productive financial department, which has helped Brightstar grow from less than $2 billion in assets under management in 2019 to more than $4 billion today.”
Her efforts have led to recent achievements, including contributing as a panelist at the Private Equity International Group’s 2023 Private Fund Compliance Forum. Lukach also completed the Wharton’s Private Equity Program. “She is leading the way as a respected thought leader in private equity with a focus on compliance,” said her colleagues. “Her contributions exemplify a dedication to continuous improvement, a pragmatic approach to navigating industry challenges and a collaborative spirit in sharing insights with industry peers.”
As a leader, Lukach said that the ability to pivot is critical for a successful leader. “Today’s leader must have an innate ability to adapt and navigate through uncertainty and embrace change,” she said. “They must have a strategic response, fostering innovation and resilience in the face of challenges.”
