Kumar Mangala

Founder & CEO

Kapital Data Corp

Location: Yardley, PA

Founded: 2015

Industry: Staffing

With three decades of experience in the staffing industry, Kumar Mangala has established himself as a respected leader and a pioneer in the field.

He got his start in the enterprise software search and staffing arena in 1988, the dawn of IT staffing. Since then, he has amassed a wealth of experience in staffing PeopleSoft projects, particularly for education and government clients. Mangala founded Kapital Data Corp in 2015 with a mission to mentor and develop great talent entering the workforce.

“Mangala aims to mentor more than 100 ‘Human Capital Entrepreneurs’ empowering them to build their own IT staffing businesses after completing four years of service at Kapital Data Corp. This innovative approach not only provides valuable mentorship but also fosters a profit-sharing model that rewards exceptional performance,” the company said.

Under Mangala’s leadership, Kapital Data Corp has surpassed $10 million in revenue within its seven years of operation. Its client portfolio includes California State University, San Bernardino County and various government entities. The company has been recognized as the fastest- growing private company by the Philadelphia 100 and earned a place on the Inc. 5000 list.

“As a leader, one of the most significant risks I have taken in my journey toward reaching my current position is embracing an investment mindset in times of uncertainty,” Mangala said. “In an ever-changing and unpredictable business landscape, leaders often face difficult decisions regarding resource allocation and long-term strategies. However, by adopting an investment mindset during uncertain times, I have been able to make bold and calculated moves that have propelled my organization forward.”

Mangala is a Goldman Sachs 10K Small Business graduate and part of the 16th cohort of the Philadelphia chapter. He was honored to be one of three panelists for a Philadelphia 100 Forum event on the topic “Thriving in Challenging Economic Times — Paths and Perspectives from Regional Business Leaders.”

“As a panelist, he shared insights and perspectives on navigating difficult economic times, showcasing his ability to stay ahead of the curve and adapt to changing circumstances,” Mangala’s team said. “Overall, Kumar’s accomplishments demonstrate his exceptional leadership skills and his deep understanding of the business landscape. His success in leading Kapital to impressive growth and recognition, as well as his dedication to continued learning and professional development, make him a deserving nominee for the titan awards.”

Mangala’s accomplishments extend beyond the business arena. He also hiked the Grand Canyon rim to rim and ran his first marathon at age 45. He called it “a life-changing experience, especially for someone who was never inside a gym until age 40.”
