As the chief executive officer of Layer 8 Security, Jeffrey Lipson has led the company to become a trusted provider of cybersecurity, regulatory and compliance solutions.

Under Lipson’s leadership, Layer 8 Security’s innovative solutions have garnered recognition and awards, including from the Philadelphia Business Journal, and PHL Inno’s Fire Awards for the launch of the Medical Aegis platform. The platform, developed by Layer 8 Security, offers smart medical device cyber-risk management and provides analysis, tracking, mitigation and reporting on medical device risks before they reach the market.

“You can get a safe corporate job and do very well. Or you can gamble everything and start a new venture,” Lipson said. “Military members, as well as first responders, often call ourselves ‘Sheep Dogs.’ We feel a benevolent need to help others. I feel strongly about keeping businesses in business.
