Gregory Lavin

Chief Financial Officer

Myonex LLC

Location: Horsham, PA

Founded: 1987

Industry: Pharma Services / Lifesciences

Over the past four years, Gregory Lavin has spearheaded the transformation of Myonex LLC from a family business with outdated systems and processes to a mature middle market industry leader with outstanding systems and operational processes. His leadership in the chief financial officer role and collaborative approach have been instrumental in facilitating these changes and fostering a culture of continuous improvement throughout the pharma services organization, the company said.

Under Lavin’s guidance, Myonex has invested in key areas, such as information technology, master data management, legal, project management and operational excellence. These investments have created scalable business operations and driven value for Myonex, the company said.

Myonex LLC is a global clinical trial solutions provider with a 30-year track record of success. The company’s mission is to support advances in medicine by improving the cost, speed, flexibility and quality of clinical trial supply while enhancing the clinical trial patient experience. Myonex offers a range of services, including packaging and labeling, drug sourcing, direct-to-site distribution and innovative solutions like CTRx, which disrupts the clinical trial supply chain, the company said.

Lavin has helped Myonex to implement a Tier 1 cloud ERP system, establish a data warehouse and analytics program, integrate Salesforce CRM with the ERP system and create a Myonex subsidiary in Germany. He has also led strategic initiatives, for instance evaluating and acquiring a clinical trial supply business in Berlin and negotiating a new senior credit facility.

Lavin has been instrumental in adopting industry standards, such as US GAAP and global VAT compliance, as well as developing robust financial reporting and FP&A programs, the company said.

“Being willing to take on new challenges and pursuing different experiences can be uncomfortable,” Lavin said. “However, I always view these challenges as learning experiences that will help me develop new skills. The desire to learn and grow has prompted me to take risks every day.”

Lavin describes successful leaders as those who are adaptable, empathetic and passionate about their work.

“Successful leaders listen intently, show a keen ability to adapt to the circumstances, are driven by the will to overcome challenges, are empathetic to fellow team members and are uniquely energetic and passionate about their impact on others,” he said.

Lavin said his favorite motto comes from Steve Jobs: “Your time is limited, so don’t waste it living someone else’s life. Don’t be trapped by dogma — which is living with the results of other people’s thinking. Don’t let the noise of others’ opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary.”
