Ginger Kochmer

President & CEO

Clutch

Location: Philadelphia, PA

Founded: 2018

Industry: Staffing

Ginger Kochmer has more than 20 years of experience in sales, marketing and recruiting, building a reputation for her expertise and personalized approach to the staffing experience.

Kochmer began her career in New York City in 1998, working in sports marketing with her own startup, The Venue. After a decade of managing professional athletes, she returned to her hometown of Philadelphia to embark on a new venture. She joined Robert Half and established The Creative Group, a staffing division focused on creative and marketing talent. During her 15-year tenure at Robert Half, she earned numerous awards and accolades and cemented her reputation in the staffing industry.

Kochmer started her own digital staffing agency, Clutch, headquartered in Philadelphia, five years ago. Through Clutch, Ginger has successfully connected over 1,000 professionals with opportunities in digital advertising and marketing across the Greater Philadelphia area.

“The most important risk I took was on myself,” Kochmer said. “I was running a multimillion- dollar organization and decided that it was time to invest in me and the ideas and beliefs that I had for my industry. Leaving the security of that position was a huge risk, but believing in myself and my ability was worth it.”

As the president and chief executive officer of Clutch, Kochmer envisions the company becoming the preferred creative staffing solution nationwide. The company aims to develop long- term relationships with clients, offering not just a one-time service but ongoing support and partnership, the company said. Clutch has been recognized as one of the best places to work for three consecutive years. The company has also received the Best and Brightest of Staffing award in 2022.

Kochmer has served on the board of the Philly Ad Club since 2006 and has been its president for the past three years. She also serves as the president of One Club Philadelphia, a chapter of One Club NYC.

Kochmer said she sees four traits in a successful leader.

“Adaptability. Leaders who can adapt to changing circumstances and embrace innovation tend to be more effective in guiding their teams and organizations,” she said. “Emotional Intelligence. Leaders with high emotional intelligence can understand and manage their own emotions while also empathizing with and understanding the emotions of others. Vision and purpose. Successful leaders have a clear vision for the future and can articulate it to inspire and motivate their teams. Lastly, communication. Leaders who can effectively communicate clearly, openly and transparently can effectively convey their ideas, expectations and feedback.”
