Prelude Solutions

Location: Malvern, PA

Founded: 2016

Industry: Telecommunications

Cate Heaman divested from another organization to focus on telecom, wireless and cloud network optimizations at Prelude Solutions. She certified the company as 100% woman-owned and actively participates in WBEC-East and Women’s Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC) programs to support and encourage women entrepreneurs, leveraging her own experiences to help others overcome the challenges they may face in male- dominated industries.

Prelude Solutions is a leader in telecommunications consulting, specializing in optimizing communication platforms. Prelude helps clients achieve an average cost savings of 33%, the firm said. Prelude leverages a network of more than 400 partners to deliver recommendations and roadmaps for clients. The company donates 3% of net profits from all optimization projects to social services organizations, demonstrating its commitment to corporate social responsibility.

“With over 25 years of experience in technology, particularly in telecommunications, Cate’s goal was to set an example by certifying Prelude Solutions as woman-owned and to mentor and inspire other women to pursue entrepreneurship,” the company said. “She invests deeply in her team’s education, providing opportunities to cultivate their own leadership and success, and encourages her employees to identify their own core values and incorporate Prelude’s core values, giving ownership to the team.”

Under Heaman’s leadership, Prelude Solutions has received multiple accolades, including the Philadelphia 100 award for fastest-growing companies in 2020 and 2021.

In the next three to five years, Prelude Solutions aims to become a platinum partner with Telarus, its technology brokerage firm, and reach $4.5 million in revenue with 50% recurring revenue and 50% one-time revenue.

“I seized opportunities to learn and enhance every aspect of our business,” Heaman said. “As a result, Prelude emerged from 2022 with tripled size and revenues, propelled by an ambitious five-year plan. This journey has been one of transformation and resilience, pushing me to unlock Prelude’s true potential. I embraced challenges, nurtured and invested in our team’s development and positioned Prelude for continued success. Inspired by unwavering determination, Prelude is charting a course defined by innovation and excellence!”

Heaman participates in the Philadelphia Chamber of Commerce’s CEO Access Network and the HMG Philadelphia CIO Executive Leadership Summit, contributing to the advancement of technology and business in the region. She serves on the PHL Diversity Board and the Healthworks Academies Board, focusing on promoting Philadelphia as an inclusive destination and developing next- generation talent in the healthcare and life sciences industry.
