LIQUID SOUL was birthed out of a passion for Tirrell D. Whittley’s entrepreneurial spirit in the marketing and new media space. “Tirrell is the consummate, epicurean leader with style, grace, humility and drive,” said his colleagues. “He possesses a strong and focused work ethic that is infectious and helps our employees realize their utmost value.”
LIQUID SOUL is a culturally driven, full-service advertising and marketing agency that helps brands connect organically with consumers through strategic marketing programs, branded content, community outreach, live experiences, influencer engagement, digital and social media. The firm has grown into one of the largest, independently owned advertising and marketing agency in the U.S. with four offices in Atlanta, Washington DC, Dallas and Los Angeles as well as three divisions, including LIQUID SOUL Politico, LIQUID SOUL Live and LIQUID SOUL Studios.
Under Whittley’s leadership, the company started in marketing and promotions for music artists and was able to do its first film in 2005. From there, Whittley and his team made a strategic decision to focus on just film and television marketing, PR and promotions which culminated in LIQUID SOUL providing marketing service for over 35 #1 box office hits, 7 academy-winning films and over 300 other films that have grossed $3 billion at the box office.
Along the way, the company became the Agency of Record of NBC Universal and helped launch the hit show “Celebrity Apprentice.” The agency also helped launch the Fox television show “Empire,” ABC’s “Black’ish” and STARZ’s “Power.” Whittley led these efforts all while working with the NCAA, NBA/WNBA and several other sports teams. To diversify the company’s client base, the firm began working with Walmart, General Mills and AT&T.
Whittley is not only known for his leadership skills, but also his talent in the industry. He is an award-winning filmmaker with an NAACP Image Award for his 2019 documentary, “Aretha Franklin: Amazing Grace.” He has also been recognized as the Atlanta Business League’s Entrepreneur of the Year.
“My personal superpower is my ability to cast dynamic vision that translates into actionable results and to super-sell our company’s value proposition to potential clients, media and stakeholders,” said Whittley. “Successful leaders need to have a clear vision that can be translated into defined actions and executions. A clear vision that is well communicated, provides buy-in benefits and gives employees and stakeholders confidence in the future direction of the company is key.”
