Terry Crouppen is a founding partner at Brown & Crouppen Law Firm, which helped make its mark by being one of the first law firms to advertise on television, helping pioneer the concept.
The firm also has a reputation for helping the little guy take on deep-pocketed entities.
“Our mission is to provide outstanding legal representation while, at the same time, offering a superior client experience,” Crouppen said. “Our goal is to level the playing field so that every person, regardless of their race, gender, orientation, religion, age or income, can stand on even ground with giant corporations who would otherwise deny them justice.”
In the past year, Crouppen helped integrate his skills with those of two managing partners to elevate the executive team. He also oversaw the organization’s media plan, which balances traditional media, such as the firm’s television advertising, with efforts in digital.
Crouppen sees a cyclical pattern in his personal journey to becoming a titan.
“Part of being a Titan means being active in your own development and growth,” he said. “This then allows the next generation to be identified. Being active and engaged in your own journey helps you scout the landscape for the next generation. Then, once they are identified, they become a part of your journey in nurturing and growing them as leaders.”
Crouppen also believes quick fixes are rare, and perseverance is essential to true success.
“When you make decisions, you have to observe the effects and adjust for unexpected outcomes,” he said. “Very often we are quick to announce ‘mission accomplished’ when complex problems really must be consistently monitored. There is rarely such a thing as a quick or one-time fix. You must stay diligent in your efforts and monitor each small step of progress to really solve problems in the long term.”
Looking back at the last year, Crouppen notes his biggest success had nothing to do with his law firm or any related work.
“My greatest accomplishment in the last year has been the birth of a new grand baby,” Crouppen said. “My granddaughter Summer Crouppen was born this year, and I can think of no greater achievement than welcoming this sweet baby. Family has always been the most important value in my life and something we have instilled in our firm. Summer has been a reaffirming presence and reminder of this important value.”
