Casey Guber

President & CEO

Rose Medical Center and Rose Women's Hospital

Location: Denver, CO

Founded: 1949

Industry: Healthcare

Early in his career, Casey Guber turned down an administrative position at a good healthcare system and opted for an unpaid internship at Rose Medical Center. That decision led him to his role today as president and CEO of Rose Medical Center and Rose Women’s Hospital.

“I believed in my mentor (the CEO at the time) and I believed in the learning opportunities I could have at Rose,” Guber said. “Over time and through the relationships I built and the opportunities I executed on, I was able to secure a position at Rose Medical Center.”

Rose Medical Center is a Denver institution, earning its reputation as Denver’s “baby hospital” while becoming a leader in comprehensive women’s care through the establishment of the Rose Women’s Hospital. The pillars of care include orthopedics and total joint replacement, heart and vascular care, weight-loss treatment, cancer care, surgical services, internal medicine, emergency care and the full spectrum of women’s services. “Rose Medical Center has been a proud part of the Denver community for nearly 75 years,” the hospital said. “With origins in Jewish teachings, traditions and community, Rose’s founders built this hospital to ‘serve the need of every creed.’ By offering a high level of expertise and service across all disciplines, Rose is a destination hospital, attracting patients from throughout Colorado and around the world.”

Under Guber’s leadership, Rose Medical Center has added a new Behavioral Health & Wellness outpatient service. The center serves the behavioral health needs of the Denver community and provides services to adolescents and adults with a specific program for women. Rose Medical Center is also building a new medical office building, expanding its mom and baby units and renovating its Wolf Building. The women’s services expansion will total $80 million in investments in the hospital.

Guber has prioritized recruiting new physicians and retaining existing ones, allowing Rose to avoid layoffs of clinical staff during the financial difficulties caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.

“Casey has an inspiring and aspirational vision for the future of Rose Medical Center and the Rose Women’s Hospital,” Guber’s team said. “At the heart of this vision are the patients we serve and our colleagues that serve them. He has stated that it is his goal to ensure that Rose Medical Center and the Rose Women’s Hospital is the destination hospital of choice for patients in the community, providers, and colleagues. He wants our hospital to be a sacred place that people can trust for their medical needs and the medical needs of their loved ones.”

With Guber at the helm, Rose Medical Center was chosen as a Denver Post Top Workplace, a Merative Top 100 Hospital, one of Healthgrades’ America’s 250 Best Hospitals and Colorado Parent’s Best Birth Center. It received straight As from the Leapfrog Group for Quality & Safety, was named Healthgrades America’s Five Star recipient for gynecologic procedures and was selected the No. 1 NICU in HCA Healthcare for two years running.
