Jim Hacking

CEO

Hacking Immigration Law, LLC

Location: St. Louis, MO

Founded: 2008

Industry: Legal

When Jim Hacking converted to Islam and started attending mosque, many in the community asked him for help with their immigration cases. After seeing how many people in the community needed immigration help, Hacking, who is married to an immigrant from Egypt, began pursuing immigration law.

He launched Hacking Immigration Law in 2008 and his wife, Amany, joined as his partner. Now, the firm has grown to over 30 employees and helped thousands of individuals obtain their immigration benefits. “We give 100% to fight for immigrants, every day,” said Hacking.

Hacking Immigration Law, LLC, works in the legal services industry but focuses solely on immigration law. In the next five years, the firm aims to be among the nation’s most well-known immigration law firms, and it is on track to complete its 10-year goal of helping naturalize 10,000 immigrants.

According to his staff, Hacking has modernized and revolutionized the typical immigration law firm. “Implementing the Entrepreneurial Operating System and focusing on internal processes, we are technologically ahead of the current law firm atmosphere by having easy-to-understand processes and systems,” they said.

By doing so, the firm has been able to handle an above average caseload, helping more immigrants navigate the immigration process. “Our attorneys work every day defending and asserting the rights of immigrants before USCIS, the Department of Labor, the immigration court and appellate courts,” said Hacking.

Hacking’s work as a leader and CEO of the law firm has not gone unnoticed. He was elected to the inaugural board of Missouri Immigrants & Refugee Advocates, an organization dedicated to fighting for the rights of immigrants and refugees. In 2010, Legal Services of Eastern Missouri awarded Hacking the F. Wm. McCalpin Pro Bono Award for his efforts advocating for low-income individuals in the St. Louis area. By 2020, Hacking Immigration Law, LLC, was named the 118th fastest growing company in the Midwest by Inc. 5000.

He continues to serve the community in which he practices and received the Eugene H. Buder Award from the ACLU of Eastern Missouri as volunteer of the year. “Individually, Jim has taken what he learned in his own firm and started a community teaching other law firm owners how to maximize their firms with a business called Maximum Lawyer,” according to his staff.

For his undying commitment to advocate for immigrants and serve the community, Hacking has been named a Titan.
