Danny Estavillo

Chief Revenue Officer

Location: Phoenix, AZ

Founded: 2012

Industry: Technology

After a successful run from its founding in 2012 up to 2020, Phoenix technology firm RevUnit hit a snag. The pandemic slowed the company’s progress dramatically, not unlike many businesses across the U.S. and the globe.

Enter Danny Estavillo, who was hired as senior vice president at the end of 2020 to help RevUnit regain its growth trajectory. Estavillo built up relationships between sales and marketing, defined RevUnit’s offerings and identified its ideal client profile, among other initiatives. By the end of 2021, in a new role as chief revenue officer, Estavillo took on responsibility for bringing in and managing all revenue.

The results speak for themselves. Revenue in 2021 increased 47% year over year, and it’s projected to increase another 58% in 2022.

“Danny has been a pivotal part of RevUnit’s return to a growth trajectory, allowing us to continue to create great outcomes for our clients while providing an amazing place for employees to come to work,” his team said.

RevUnit is a technology professional services firm focused on helping clients build data strategies, products and infrastructure to put operational insights into the hands of their employees. The company works in a number of industries but has built a niche and expertise in retail, transportation and logistics.

While his team points to Estavillo’s work as helping reset RevUnit’s trajectory, Estavillo credits his team for its work and helping him get where he is today.

“The real key to staying relevant is the people you surround yourself with,” he said. “Throughout my career, I have been so lucky to be surrounded by brilliant colleagues and customers. My goal is to soak up a smidge of knowledge from every interaction.”

Estavillo previously worked in leadership roles at Target, Verizon and Nerdery. He co-founded Biltmore Psychology and Counseling, which focuses on increasing wellness and removing mental health stigmas, with his wife, Dr. Melissa Estavillo.

Danny Estavillo holds a bachelor’s degree in economics and an MBA in entrepreneurship from Arizona State University, and he was a founding member of the AZ Tech Council MedTech Conference.

He also served as a sergeant in the U.S. Marine Corps, where he learned to lead by setting the right example, he said.

“I have an obligation to lead from the front and never ask someone to do something I wouldn’t myself,” Estavillo said. “As a leader, I feel an obligation to serve those that I lead and grow them by ‘fighting’ alongside them.”
