The fastest track to growth is hiring the right people, according to Stanley Pittman, managing principal and founder of Eigen X. If the growth of his company is any indication, Pittman has done exactly that — hired the right people.
“I have found that hiring great people and enabling their success is the shortest path to growth,” he said. “Removing burdensome processes, supporting training, providing all the tools that are needed, and most of all TRUSTING the people on our team have led to our success.”
Eigen X is a leading provider of CRM, data analytics and application services. Its consultants find solutions to challenges in enterprise systems, data management and emerging technologies.
Pittman received his Bachelor of Science in chemical engineering from Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology and his Master of Science in electrical engineering from Drexel University. Early in his career, he worked as a chemical engineer for what is now GE Chemicals. He joined a software startup as product manager and helped grow the company until its sale to private equity. He then joined Andersen to build their new e-commerce/content management technology team. He grew the team from zero revenue to over $8 million in annual revenue in the second year and was made partner.
After the demise of Andersen, Pittman and four other partners joined SMART Business Consulting in 2002 when the firm was at $18 million in revenue. In 2007, the business did over $100 million in revenue and was sold to private equity. In 2012, Pittman launched Eigen X to address a need in the marketplace for system integration services. The company aimed to recreate the culture at Andersen by allowing individual leaders within Eigen X to build their own practice areas and teams.
Eigen X has generated consistent 30% year-over-year revenue growth. The company launched a federal consulting practice based in Washington, D.C., and the business plans to add to its office locations in Philadelphia and New York with space in San Francisco, Atlanta, and Chicago.
“We are targeting a doubling of revenue and employee count over the next 60 months,” the company said. “A continued low employee turnover level is required to maintain this growth. We continue to add flexibility and compensation enhancements to our employee offering.”
Eigen X has been recognized as a Top 5 Best Consulting Firm to work for in the U.S. for 2021. The company has been named among the Philadelphia Business Journal’s Best Places to Work eight times, Inc. 5000 Fastest-Growing Private Companies in America and Philadelphia Inquirer Top Workplaces 2020 and has earned a Salesforce Customer Satisfaction Survey result of 4.9 out of 5.0 for four consecutive years.
“Following the current trends, future plans and new directions of the technology market is required to stay relevant,” Pittman said. “I try to attend key technology and vendor conferences, learn from our amazingly brilliant Eigen X team and converse regularly with my network of friends and colleagues.”
