Greg Dozier

Technical College System of Georgia

Location: Atlanta, Georgia

Founded: 2007

Industry: Post Secondary Education

Greg Dozier believes that influence is related to making a difference. As the commissioner of the Technical College System of Georgia he is credited for bringing his influence and passion for customer service to the forefront of the college system’s operations, ensuring the 22 colleges within the system had the data necessary to meet the needs of local industry and the 300,000+ students it serves.

Under his leadership, Technical College System of Georgia has added 278 new programs to meet industry needs, created partnerships with more than eight state agencies and universities and has obtained more than $30 million in external grant funds to further the mission.

The mission of the Technical College System of Georgia (TCSG) is to build a well-educated, globally competitive workforce through technical education, adult education and customized training for Georgia’s businesses and industries.

TCSG’s 22 colleges provide state-of-the-art training in high-demand technical fields, along with adult literacy programs and a host of economic and workforce development programs. It embraces a unified system of technical education, adult education and customized business and industry training through programs that offer easy access to lifelong education and training for all adult Georgians and corporate citizens.

“Throughout his tenure in public service, Greg has demonstrated exceptional leadership, vision and passion at each of the agencies he has led,” said his staff. “Greg successfully navigated and led all 22 colleges and the system office through the COVID-19 pandemic, ensuring students remained on track while also prioritizing the health and safety of the TCSG community.”

While serving as commissioner, Dozier was instrumental in streamlining student services by becoming the first system in the nation to enroll adult educators online. The eCampus technology provides students the ability to enroll in digital online courses offered by any TCSG college, creating equity in opportunity by providing access to high demand programs that may not be available at a student’s local technical college.

“At TCSG, Greg renewed the mission of putting Georgia families and students first and is committed to providing state-of-the-art education,” said his colleagues.

Leading a large post-secondary system requires a commitment to solutions, according to Dozier. “Understanding the vision and providing solutions ensures success,” he said. “Solutions often have a global reach beyond one’s own entity.”

For his commitment to post-secondary education and the Georgia community, Dozier has been named a Titan.
