John Street is described as a visionary who can predict where the market is going and create a business case that clearly addresses future challenges. His professional record supports this and more. Known as a serial entrepreneur with a passion for building disruptive technology that helps businesses grow, Street has turned around several companies, with six of his firms recognized by Inc. 500.

“I first became a CEO at 29,” said Street. “During my time as a leader at that age, I didn’t understand the scope of my influence with my employees. However, I have learned through time and experience to be careful about my communication and tailor my message for each audience.”

As a leader, Street wants smart people to challenge him, which is why he has learned to talk less and listen more.

His most recent success includes establishing Pax8 in 2012. Drawing from his past experience at USA.Net where his staff grew from 17 to 500 in only two years, and at MX Logic, one of the largest providers of email and web security, it was no surprise that Pax8 earned success early on.

“The secret is in building great sales processes driven by a deep understanding of how customers want to buy products,” said Street. “Selling is a team sport and if you create a team spirit, it supercharges the sales effort.”

Pax8, a technology firm that serves as a catalyst for worldwide adoption of cloud technology, is the fourth company Street has founded that made the top 500 of the 5000 list. In less than four years, Pax8 landed at 60 on the Inc. 5000 with an annual run rate of more than $200 million.

“As the CEO, I’ve addressed a major need in the technology ecosystem, driving success that has well-exceeded industry forecasts,” said Street. “I set a high standard for myself, my leadership team and the business.”

Those standards include making company culture a top priority. “I place value on company culture and how the culture directly correlates with the leadership team,” he said. “They are hungry, humble and hardworking and I have confidence in their abilities to solve business challenges for customers.”

Pax8 has earned more than 150 awards, including recognition as one of the best places to work by the Denver Business Journal, Denver Post, ComputerWorld and OUTSIDE Magazine.

Street has also racked up honors and awards that include being named a Top 25 in IT as a disrupter in the market alongside leaders from Google, Cisco and HP. He was also named a Top SaaS CEO in the world by The Software Report, joining the ranks of CEOs from Cvent, Splunk, Brainshark, Salesforce and more.

His inspirational leadership style and sharp focus have earned Street a spot as a Titan of industry.

John's Motto:

“A foolish consistency is the hobgoblin of little minds”. I always try to see if a newer, nuanced approach to a previously proven process will improve productivity/ efficiency. It doesn’t always work, but I find that it is always worth exploring. I’ve seen many times where companies use the same approach to a new situation and don’t maximize efficiency because it is easier to just continue with the same approach.

Fun Fact:
