As the co-founder and CEO of Mobile Solutions, Jim Johnson sets a high bar every day, but what makes him stand out is that he is personally there to help everyone cross the successful finish line together. He is described as a leader who is forward-thinking and relentless in the pursuit of success.

“I believe that everyone on our team has the ability to contribute in a positive way to the future of the company,” said Johnson. “That’s why we encourage everyone on the team to think outside the box when trying to improve on our success.”

His success is evident at Mobile Solutions, a software company Johnson co-founded with his wife Kim in 2008. For over a decade, Johnson and his team have expanded the suite of services at Mobile Solutions to include providing full lifecycle managed mobility services, 24/7 support, dedicated account management, device reclamation services and the successful launch of an innovative mobility management platform.

Johnson was instrumental in creating MAX, a SaaS mobility management platform. “MAX was built from the ground up based on listening to customers and learning through experiences in the industry,” said Johnson. Since its launch, Mobile Solutions has accomplished 35% growth in revenue year-after-year, has increased its employee count by 37% and has maintained a 95% customer retention rate.

“It’s about knowing the needs of our customers and using innovative technology to provide solutions to make their jobs easier,” said Johnson. “Technology changes the landscape and the rate technology is developing allows us to provide turnkey solutions to our clients.”

His work is not finished, though. Johnson and his team have plans to better enhance the company’s Unified Endpoint Management offering through multiple integrations that bring more visibility around security. Mobile Solutions is also working toward launching a Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) offering to assist clients further.

“This is truly the next chapter in our story,” said Johnson. “From the beginning, we have set out to redefine the mobility management space. We are dedicated to provide enhanced offerings, additional automation and far-reaching solutions in telecom.”

In 2019, Johnson spearheaded the partnership between Mobile Solutions and Periscope Equity, a Chicago-based private equity firm focused on investments in mission-critical, technology-enabled business services companies to accelerate both firm’s vision for growth. 2019 brought more recognition to Johnson and his company. He was honored as IndustryEra’s 10 Best CEOs of the year. Mobile Solutions has also been recognized with ColoradoBiz’s Top Company Award, the Denver Business Journal’s Best Places to Work and the Enterprise Technology Management Association’s Best Practices Award.

For Johnson, the success stems from how his leadership team leads by example. “It’s simple,” he said. “Just continue to innovate and develop tomorrow’s leaders.”

His quest for innovation and willingness to foster tomorrow’s leaders has earned Johnson a spot as a Titan of industry.
