Founder & CEO
DYPER

Location: Scottsdale
Founded: 2018
Industry: Baby Care

Sergio Radovcic launched his business DYPER in 2018, leveraging his background in tech, business and marketing to address the environmental impact of disposable diapers and provide a sustainable solution for parents.

Radovcic’s inspiration came when he realized the massive amount of waste generated by traditional diapers and their harmful effects on the environment. He set out to create an eco-friendly alternative without compromising quality.

“As an entrepreneur with a successful track record of launching and growing over a dozen startups across multiple industries and continents, I had never imagined myself entering the world of baby care,” Radovcic said. “After all, my expertise had been primarily focused on sports nutrition, tech and telehealth, with forays into real estate, lending, software, wireless and e-marketing. However, when I became a father, I was struck by the staggering amount of waste generated by single-use plastic diapers and their devastating impact on the environment.

“As someone who has always been committed to finding solutions to pressing problems, I became obsessed with creating an eco-friendly alternative with a sustainable end-of-life solution. Despite the immense risk involved in leaving behind my established career and venturing into unfamiliar territory, I knew I had no choice but to pursue my vision. That's how DYPER was born.”

Under his leadership, DYPER has made significant advancements in manufacturing, supply-chain logistics and business approach. DYPER products are made with plant-based materials and are free from chlorine, latex, alcohol, lotions, TBT and phthalates. They are soft, absorbent and certified by organizations such as USDA BioPreferred and Standard 100 by OEKO-TEX. DYPER also offers the REDYPER program, allowing families to return used diapers for responsible disposal, diverting millions of pounds of waste from landfills.

Radovcic envisions DYPER growing into a comprehensive health and wellness platform for babies and caregivers. The company has expanded its offerings to include at-home tests for baby gut health and advanced DNA testing.

Radovcic’s leadership and DYPER's innovations have garnered recognition, including Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year, Momentum 100 Top Impact CEO List and various industry awards. The company is also proud to have achieved B Corp certification, demonstrating its commitment to social and environmental excellence.

With the introduction of their patent-pending BYOCHAR technology, Radovcic and DYPER aim to revolutionize the end-of-life solutions for diapers. BYOCHAR transforms used diapers into biochar, a soil additive that absorbs carbon and reduces landfill waste and greenhouse gas emissions. The technology has the potential to make a significant impact in the global landfill dilemma, the company said.
