Casey Cartier

CEO & President
Jokake Construction

Location: Paradise Valley
Founded: 1983
Industry: Construction

Casey Cartier got his start in the construction industry as an entry-level field manager right after college. Since then, he’s progressed through various operational and managerial roles, eventually joining Jokake Construction in 2012 to spearhead the company's growth in new market verticals.

Since then, with Cartier’s influence, Jokake has consistently set revenue and profit margin records. Today, Cartier leads the Paradise Valley-based company as its CEO and president, and he places an emphasis on communication and setting a vision for his team.

“Today's leaders must be clear communicators of the vision for the organization while having the depth and contextual skill to connect every member of the organization to the successful outcome of that vision,” Cartier said.

Under Cartier's leadership, Jokake has expanded its market sectors and revenue. The company now operates in the healthcare, life sciences, biotech, behavioral health and industrial sectors,

“We undertook a rebranding effort in the height of the pandemic,” Cartier said. “I felt that the bold approach to growth, even in the face of uncertainty, was an important risk that was required for our future success. This became a monumental effort both internally, and externally, because of our great history and reputation in our marketplace for office renovation work.

“Our staff was comfortable and confident with doing the things that we always had done, but we needed to become experts in the growing life sciences and industrial marketplaces. I am extremely grateful to our team of leaders that took on this challenge and successfully navigated market perceptions, employee fears and financial uncertainty. I'm proud to say it has been a huge success with no end in sight.”

Cartier envisions Jokake branching into multiple incubator businesses to serve clients in the commercial real estate sector and beyond. The company has already taken steps in this direction by establishing profit centers in its corporate structure. For example, Jokake's corporate marketing division offers comprehensive services to developers and architects, providing brand development, presentations and general marketing support. This not only adds value to clients but also serves as a training ground for employees to gain business acumen, the company said.

Cartier recognizes and embraces the power of technology, particularly artificial intelligence (AI), the company said. By leveraging AI's efficiencies, the company can overcome challenges, enhance client service and accelerate scaling.

Cartier has received numerous accolades and recognitions. He has been named ASA Superintendent of the Year and CFMA Executive of the Year, among other honors. He participates in professional associations and serves as a mentor in the Young Presidents Organization, where he guides fellow C-suite professionals.
