With decades of accomplishments, Kirk Halpern is a well-known expert in the food and meat industry with over 30+ years of progressive and successful experience, leading operations and strategic decision making. In 2019, Halpern and his son Ben created Farmers & Fishermen Purveyors, a company with a family-focused philosophy.
“Our employees are valued as employee partners, the foundation of our company, and we value each and every one of them,” said Halpern. “That’s one of the reasons we hire our employees’ family members and as a small father and son business, we believe family is everything.”
Farmers & Fishermen Purveyors is one of the fastest-growing home delivery companies in the nation supplying their valued food service and home delivery customers with the highest quality meat, seafood and specialty products available.
Halpern’s point of distinction for the company’s financial success is twofold. He said his customer stratification is significant and his supplier partners support small producers from farmers to fishermen as he ends up selling it to other small customers, impacting the entire supply chain.
“With a sustainable and environmentally conscientious goal that he has met repeatedly, Kirk has demonstrated a solution-driven low footprint helping small producers bring beautiful seafood and meat to other small independent restaurant owners in Greater Atlanta, so they can offer options that no one in the country has seen and prosper,” said his staff.
Since he was named a Titan 100 last year, Halpern was named one of the Most Admired CEOs in the Family-Owned Business category by the Atlanta Business Chronicle. He has also been involved as a leader with Goodwill North Georgia.
Halpern is also committed to mentoring future titans. “The next generation of titans need leaders who give back with community service and make a measurable difference inspiring others to join you and also give back,” he said. “I am passionate about getting others involved in purposeful causes because together we can accomplish so much and make a difference.”
As a leader, Halpern said leaders care about creating other leaders. “I believe the adage – ‘Never underestimate the power of what you can accomplish if you don’t care who gets credit,’” said Halpern. “I am fueled as a leader to show my gratitude – I appreciate my hard-working team and believe while in the food industry we grow food, we must also grow and nurture talent.”
