Tyler Weston

President, Chief Operating Officer, Co-Founder

The Noble Group

Location: Waukesha County, WI

Founded: 1997

Industry: Workplace Safety/Risk Mitigation

Tyler Weston said there are parallels between leadership in the U.S. Marine Corps, where he was a noncommissioned officer, and leadership in the business world. Accomplishing the mission is always the first priority, but troop welfare “is a close No. 2,” he said. The same lesson applies in running a business.

“It is imperative to always take care of your troops, or in this case, your employees,” Weston said. “It is good to stay involved with your people, talk to them regularly, and get to know them. Likewise, it is good to share the vision of the company with them and keep them involved to make them feel valued and a part of your success. Have company-sponsored events, provide lunch-and-learns and reward employees when they do exceptional things.”

Weston leans on that lesson in his role as president, chief operating officer and co-founder of The Noble Group.

The Noble Group of companies — Noble Medical, Noble Diagnostics, Noble Backgrounds and Noble Six — is a risk mitigation group focused on employment screening services and workplace safety. Its products and services include drug and alcohol testing products, drug and alcohol testing laboratory services/third-party administration and management of employment testing programs, background checks, hiring assessments, training, consulting and operational security.

The company was founded in Brookfield, Wisconsin, in 1997 with a primary focus on drug testing products for employers. The business evolved as technology evolved to include more products and services. Weston joined Noble in 2017 as director of operations. He was promoted to president and COO in 2020, and that same year Weston and Dan Hlavachek co-founded Noble Six Inc., bringing the idea of a full-service risk mitigation group to life.

“My vision for The Noble Group is to be the recognized one-stop shop for all things related to workplace safety and risk mitigation,” Weston said. “I am currently exploring strategic partnerships within various industries to make that happen. My big five-year vision, or goal, is to have partnerships with nationwide insurance companies to create and offer an in-depth workplace safety program through The Noble Group.”

Weston co-authored a business book titled “Employment Screening Business SecretsHow to Get More Clients, Keep Them Longer & Quit Selling on Low Price.” Weston has served on the Wisconsin Veterans Chamber of Commerce board and was chosen to be the state of Wisconsin caucus representative for the National Drug and Alcohol Screening Association.

In 2022, Weston founded the Hero’s Hope Foundation, the giving arm of Noble Six. The foundation donates proceeds from all sales to families that have lost a loved one in the line of duty (military, police, fire, etc.).

He recently earned an MBA from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and will begin doctoral studies at Concordia University in 2023.

Did you know?

A fun fact about me is that I am an animal lover! My wife and I have two of everything… two kids, two dogs, two cats, two horses, and two reptiles (a bearded dragon and a corn snake). The neighborhood joke is that the Weston household is “Noah’s Ark.” Another fun fact is that I can play multiple musical instruments to include the trumpet, drums, guitar, and a little bit of piano. I was in rock a band in my younger years that played some smaller shows in the Milwaukee, WI area. I have since “retired” from my musical career, but still like to jam out on the guitar pretty regularly.
