Matthew Lautz

Chief Executive Officer
Neostella

Location: Milwaukee, WI
Founded: 2019
Industry: Technology

Matthew Lautz has founded and built several technology companies, and along the way he has learned to be flexible enough to shift gears on the path to success.

“The path that you believed would create success and growth for your business is often not the one that does,” he said. “Being willing to change and adjust your strategy and not considering those changes as failures is critical to success.”

Lautz served as founder and CEO of a Cloud Contact Center solution that was acquired by ShoreTel/ Mitel, a salesforce implementation practice that was acquired by a Fortune 1000 company and an appraisal management software application that was acquired by the nation’s leading appraisal management company at that time.

After his most recent successful exit, Lautz was eager to take on the next challenge and opted for the robotic process automation (RPA) market, launching the RPA consulting, development and implementation firm Neostella. In the two and a half years since, the company has grown to over 100 associates in five countries. The company has expanded its reach beyond RPA into hyperautomation, forming partnerships with Integration Platform as a Service (iPaaS) provider Workato, business management software provider Work-Relay and legal software solution provider Filevine.

“The only way to continue to remain relevant for any leader is to always evolve,” Lautz said. “My goal is to ensure that at no time is Neostella static, instead that I am always striving to grow our team to be leaders and pioneers in automation.”

In the next five years, the company envisions continued growth both within its current markets — Milwaukee; London; Medellin, Colombia and Cebu City, Philippines — and establishing Neostella in additional markets globally.

Lautz serves as a board member and investor in PAXAFE, which is building an Internet-of-Parcels (IoP) ecosystem of complementary technologies that keep supply chains secure. He is also active in other business groups and regularly speaks at industry and other business events.

“He possesses a powerful blend of traits that set him apart: raw intelligence, a deep passion for the technology industry and an inherent scrappiness,” Lautz’s team said. “When Matt sets his mind to something, there is simply no stopping him. With those inherent traits, Matt has developed a skill set that breeds success.

“He leads with grace. Matt is driven, focused and hard working. And he expects as much from his team, and his team responds. He shares the vision, makes expectations clear, and offers direct feedback with kindness. He is also mindful of creating a great work atmosphere and respects his teams’ work-life balance.”
