*2nd Year Honoree*

Dr. Will Moreland is the founder and president of a workplace culture and training firm, Moreland Training & Associates, and as a second-year titan he’s been able to grow his impact.

“I am on a mission to make racism uncomfortable for those that want to engage in this detrimental philosophy in Arizona and around the world,” Moreland said. “I also released a new book, Nine Lies About Racism, that will be used in schools and organizations across America. Using my platform as a titan, I was able to meet with city officials across the state of Arizona and open up dialogue on ways we can improve diversity, equity and inclusion in the business sector as well as in each of our expanding cities. It is my hope to make Arizona a guiding light in race relations and become a model for other states to follow.”

Moreland Training & Associates aims to take the complexity out of diversity by creating cultures of civility, Moreland said. “We support our clients in developing environments for their employees to thrive. We are workplace culture experts.”

Moreland established the Civility Pledge Alliance, inviting businesses, community leaders and organizations to join forces in making Arizona a truly diverse place for residents and employees.

Moreland has been honored as one of the Top 30 Speakers in America and received the prestigious Martin Luther King, Jr. Living the Dream Award.

Moreland's commitment to personal and professional growth is evident in his pursuit of knowledge and continuous learning, his team said. He is enrolled in the Urban Excellence Coaching Academy, and he and his team are expanding their leadership capabilities to better serve their clients. The goal is to have 50 companies partner with them in the coming year to become Companies of Civility. These companies will join the Civility Pledge Alliance, complete the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Certification program and appoint Civility Champions to drive the values of diversity, equity and inclusion throughout their organizations.

“I believe that the most important attributes a leader can have today are their willingness to adapt to the changing times and their ability to communicate across cultures in a meaningful way, using their influence to create safe spaces for everyone they lead,” Moreland said.

Moreland said his greatest professional risk was choosing to move from Germany to Arizona. “Moving my family across the water to a state we had never been to before, with no connections (was a risk),” he said. “But (we) just (felt) as though Phoenix was the place where we would flourish.”
