Stephanie Friese Aron
Co-Managing Shareholder & National Chair of the Real Estate Practice Group
Location: Atlanta, Georgia
Stephanie Friese Aron graduated from the University of Georgia School of Law and got more than just a legal job. She started her own law firm, Friese Legal, with her father as her mentor and her father-in-law helping connect her with the real estate community.
“Owning my firm and having my own clients allowed me to learn by fire, to understand business in a way that it took many of my peers longer to learn, and I was forced to build my own book of clients at an earlier stage in my career,” Friese Aron said. “I also had the opportunity to make my own decisions about my life and work balance, which ultimately meant I stayed in the profession longer than many of the other women with whom I went to law school.”
Friese Aron ran her firm for 13 years, and that experience helped set the table for her role today at tax-focused law firm Chamberlain Hrdlicka, where she is co-managing shareholder and national chair of the real estate practice group.
“We are a mid-market, multiservice firm with a leading national tax practice,” the company said. “Over the years, individuals and business entities alike have placed their trust in Chamberlain Hrdlicka for one simple reason: They know they will be represented by highly skilled and dedicated attorneys who provide a level of sophistication and client service and a value proposition that are unmatched.”
Friese Aron’s background includes creating a real estate boutique firm, Pursley Friese Torgrimson, a certified woman-owned and woman-managed business, where Friese Aron served as managing partner. The firm’s clients included the Coca-Cola Co. In 2019, the transactional group from Pursley Friese Torgrimson announced it would be joining the Atlanta office of Chamberlain Hrdlicka.
Two years into her time at Chamberlain Hrdlicka, Friese Aron was tapped to co-lead the firm’s Atlanta office. Five months later, she was elected national chair of the firm’s growing real estate practice. She was also elected by her shareholder peers to the Chamberlain Hrdlicka Board of Directors. Friese Aron is a past president of the Georgia Association of Women Lawyers and Commercial Real Estate Women (CREW). She is also a former board member of the Atlanta Women’s Foundation, which she continues to support. She currently serves on the CREW Board of Directors as co-chair of Finance and Governance.
Friese Aron has been recognized as a Bisnow Commercial Real Estate Power Woman in Atlanta, a Woman of Influence by the GlobeSt. Real Estate Forum and a Best Mentor by Atlanta’s Daily Report. She has been named a Georgia Super Lawyer, included on the list of Best Lawyers in America and named to Georgia Trend’s Legal Elite.
As a working mother herself, Friese works hard to address the pressures that working mothers face. At Pursley Friese Torgrimson, she implemented a bring your child to work every day policy for attorneys and all employees. She says the firm determined from the beginning that it didn't want employees “ men or women “ to feel they had to choose between their responsibilities to their families and their profession, and she hopes this policy allowing children to join their parents at work every day set an example for other firms.
