CEdge Inc.

Location: St. Louis, MO
Founded: 2004
Industry: Information Technology

Sekhar Prabhakar believes that the success of employees is the key to an organization. “Every employee plays a key role,” he said. “It is especially important that individuals are given an opportunity to question the process and help to improve making the organization better. However, it is also important that employees make sure that their job offers the best possibility for their success.”

Prabhakar believes that business owners and leaders should think of offering the best value to employees, clients, customers and the community as these are the four pillars for growing a business. This mantra has served him well as the CEO of CEdge, Inc.

In August of 2004, CEdge was born out of a desire to make a difference within the business, as well as the community where services are provided. Today, CEdge is a minority owned SBA certified CMMI Level 4 business that provides service and quality products for various commercial and government entities. These services span from enterprise data management solutions, web application development and IT infrastructure support services to cyber security and technical staffing.

According to his staff, Prabhakar’s entrepreneurial spirit was the impetus behind his creation of the company. “He has an immense desire to have an organization that is centrally focused on building a platform for employees to grow and benefit from their participation, while providing a conduit for customers to have a capability that will allow them to achieve their chosen vision for their organization,” they said.

His rationale for wanting to create CEdge was also based upon what Prabhakar saw as challenges for customer organizations through his professional experiences. “He believes that as a beneficiary of both government and commercial contracts, we have a responsibility to support other small businesses and activities in the community,” said his staff.

This is what has pushed Prabhakar to mentor small businesses to help them wade through challenges within the management and technology arenas. He also adopts a consistent theme of working within the community school systems to drive STEM activities for the future leaders of the company. Prabhakar also provides technical expertise to the City of Creve Coeur’s Economic Development Council and mentors IT entrepreneurs in the St. Louis Information Technology Entrepreneur Network organization.

Internally, his staff said that Prabhakar sets the tone for most business development opportunities and consistently acts as a cheerleader for the firm, staff and clients.

For his commitment to mentorship, positivity and community involvement, Prabhakar has been named a Titan.
