Weinberg said he learned these lessons from working with his father from whom he purchased the company from in 2012. Since then, he has built on the strong foundation that his father laid by growing the firm 300% in the first 9 years. He has developed many of the top producing recruiting and staffing professionals in St. Louis and created a career path to help keep them engaged with retention rates well above the industry norm. Weinberg explained that formalizing and fine-tuning the internal recruiting process over a number of years has increased the percentage of high performing hires.
“Although we are a relatively small company without an internal training department, we are not afraid to spend money on external training and tools to help our account managers and recruiters maximize their production and therefore their earnings,” Weinberg said. “We have a very autonomous management culture. This does not mean unstructured. We do have ways of keeping people on track, coaching them and holding them accountable to the activities that will make them successful, but we also give them a lot of flexibility and do not micro-manage them.”
He added that many members of his team have grown their responsibilities and earned 500% or more of what they earned before coming to the firm.
He has grown the company from approximately $1.5 million in revenue when he bought the firm in 2012 to over $6 million in revenue in 2021.
