Brian Lipstein’s dedication to implementing effective systems and processes has been instrumental in driving forward Henry A. Davidsen, the image consulting and men’s clothing company where he serves as president and chief executive officer. In the last year, Lipstein said one of his greatest accomplishments has been to institute the Entrepreneurial Operating System (EOS) for the business.
“We began implementation of this system, based on the book ‘Traction’ by Gino Wickman, in August of 2022,” Lipstein said. “The implementation of this has helped to define accountability roles within the company, identify needed seats for which we’ve hired and filled for specializations, as well as set quarterly priority items (rocks) to focus on for 90-day periods. With three to five rocks per quarter, we have now accomplished 10–15 major items to move the company forward.
“We have also refined our core values and vision for the company, performed an audit of our employees to understand that we have the right people in the right seats, and, if we found that someone didn’t fit, we’ve tried to find the right seat or we’ve let them go, realizing they were not the right person to move our company forward and replaced them with someone who is.
“We’ve exceeded our revenue goals, experienced a record month in the company’s history and continue to be laser-focused on our goals.
We’re establishing, refining, and documenting processes (we’ve since subscribed to Trainual as a tool to help build our playbook and onboarding processes), which are setting us up to scale and preparing us to begin identifying new markets to pursue satellite partnerships for growth in other cities. EOS has been a cornerstone that is pushing us through the plateau we’ve been sitting around for the last couple of years.”
Despite shifts in the industry and a more casual dress culture, Henry A. Davidsen remains laser- focused on serving its core clientele. The company caters to 40- to 60-year-old male senior-level professionals who appreciate the value of quality service and products, the company said.
Lipstein is actively involved in industry leadership and community engagement. He serves on the board of directors for the Custom Tailors & Designers Association as the second vice president, contributing to the growth and development of the oldest active trade association in the United States.
Lipstein also holds a leadership role as a co-chair for the Entrepreneurs’ Organization’s Strategic Alliance Partners program, and he is involved with the nonprofit The Wardrobe.
