Tasha L. Jones is described as a connector of people, places and spaces. As the Chief Marketing Officer of Mile High United Way, a 135-year-old nonprofit with a mission to unite people, ideas and resources to advance the common good, Jones is able to do more than just connect others.

“Tasha Jones has a passion to share the gifts she’s received in her life with others,” said her staff. “She’s had wonderful, giving teachers, mentors, co-workers and friends, and if she’s learned anything from them, it’s that she’s learned everything from them.”

Jones views herself as a leader and a community ambassador. Through her personal mentorship investment in young professionals, she shares her own experience as a first-generation student of color navigating the post-secondary world. She aspires to empower future business leaders to honor their voice and speak their truth.

“My purpose is to have a game-changing, positive impact on the advancement of women and girls,” said Jones. “Through mentorship, I show up for those who seek thoughtful guidance customized to their career aspirations.” As a result, her insights and advice have resulted in job opportunities, professional growth and renewed confidence in each and every young person she has mentored.

Jones prioritizes collaboration, said her staff. “She collaborates instinctively, with a core belief that we are so much better when we work together as a whole.”

In addition to focusing on collaboration, Jones reflects on how she can be of service in all that she does. “She hears of a board committee need and jumps in to address it. She volunteers in a formal capacity and sees there is more to be done,” said her staff. “Tasha extends herself and her talents to a diverse group of beneficiaries in customized ways, yet in her endless humility, is always the first in scale – seeking to learn how she can be of help to others in nearly every daily encounter.”

The goal-driven and award-winning marketing executive focuses to form clarity around key business drivers to assess marketing needs and integrate pragmatic strategies for continued improvement, transformation and engagement for the organization. She drives strategy for the organization’s marketing efforts, alongside the existing marketing team, bringing greater awareness to the nonprofit’s programmatic work in strengthening under-resourced neighborhoods in the Denver metro area.

“I lead by keeping humans at heart and understanding that the teams I lead bring their whole self to their work in that they’re managing their life through uncertainty,” said Jones.
