Robert Lindley considers himself a people person first and a business professional second. However, by combining these two attributes, he has found success as the CEO of Canyon Title, A Boston National Company. Canyon Title is a full-service title, escrow and marketing company that serves the entire state of Colorado, as well as 42 states through the parent company Boston National Title.
According to Lindley, he has faced countless challenges since acquiring Canyon Title in 2006, but all of these challenges led to significant accomplishments. “Having a tech background, it started with a desire to become the first paperless title company in Colorado,” said Lindley. “We essentially wanted to eliminate the common flaws in the title processes and wrap the process around the software instead of the inverse.”
This desire transformed the company and Canyon Title pivoted to offer new services designed to help home builders mitigate their bankruptcies while also perfecting new processes for facilitating short sales. Since its inception, Canyon Title has acquired four companies and partnered with Boston National Title, offering even more expansion and growth.
“Robert Lindley shifted the small company paradigm and successfully proved that with a lot of hard work, a bit of luck, a whole lot of passion and creating the culture conducive to growth and success by hiring the right people, the small engine that could, would become the great engine that does,” said his staff. “Rob has many accolades attached to his name and while all are important to evidence the Titan that he is, it is his commitment to the people of Canyon Title that warrants attention and praise.”
He strives to embrace change by establishing a community of trust within the company. “Leading an organization through change is the highlight of my career,” said Lindley. “It starts by establishing a community of like-minded, positive, integrous and compassionate individuals so that trust can thrive.”
Lindley said that on a foundation of trust, open two-way communication can be established between both internal and external stakeholders, which creates a collaborative environment that values the ideas of all parties involved.
“Always put people first, listen to your gut and temper your feelings with data,” said Lindley. “Be thoughtful of generational shifts and the distinct needs of various age groups. This is applicable for both your work force and the clients you are trying to serve.”
For his ability to lead through change and establish a foundation of trust, Lindley has been named a Titan of industry.
