R. Scott Tracy and his wife started Chiller Systems Service, Inc. in 1997 with just a savings account and a lot of hard work. Twenty-three years later, the HVAC service and repair company is a leader in the sectors with teammates who have been with the company long term.

Coupled with his knowledge and 45 years of experience in the industry, Tracy has propelled the company forward to adapt new controls, refrigerants, compressors and other HVAC products when appropriate instead of replacing the equipment. Tracy is well known within the industry and serves as a board member of the ICE group while also working with the HVAC industry nationwide and serving as a contributing member of the Synergy Solutions Group.
While Tracy acknowledges that success is important, he believes that you should strive not to be a success, but rather to be of value. As President, he not only provided value, but also reassurance to his employees when the pandemic hit in 2020. “The first thing we did in March 2020 was to tell our team we would take care of them, even if work dropped off, so they could be confident in keeping their families taken care of,” said Tracy. “This support for our team provided them and their families with confidence to continue to provide top of class service for our customers.”
Over the years, Tracy has also prioritized training and learning for his employees to succeed. “My success is tied to the success of our teammates and company; if we do our jobs well, we have happy customers and motivated teammates,” said Tracy. “The rest usually takes care of itself.”
