Peter J. Svedin
Lifetime Windows & Siding
Location: Denver, CO
In 2009, Peter J. Svedin was living in a one-bedroom Denver apartment and had a Discover card with a $7,000 limit. Although he had limited resources, he started selling windows door to door and recognized an opportunity for a local company to compete successfully against several larger, national firms by offering homeowners premium windows and siding products at a fair price.
Eleven years later, he is the CEO and Founder of Lifetime Windows & Siding in Denver and continues to lead the company to thrive by enhancing the buyer experience. Svedin understood early on that success would be driven by a few proven business principles: strong leadership, core values, accountability, responsibility, and opportunity.
“Since the beginning, one of Peter’s most important priorities has been to provide Lifetime employees with growth opportunities,” according to his staff. “He understands that if our team thrives, the business will thrive.”
According to Svedin, team members impact the success of the company by upholding the core values that include being nimble, responsive and accountable. He also encourages giving back to the community that has generously supported the business.
“Peter is a classic entrepreneur,” said his employees. “He recognizes opportunities and moves quickly to capitalize on them. He is not afraid to take risks.”
Svedin is also credited as a strong motivator and a CEO who leads by example. It’s his steady optimism that motivates the staff to be loyal to partners, embrace resilience and act cool under pressure, especially since Lifetime competes with huge national companies with deep pockets.
“Peter’s resilience and determination have kept us focused on developing programs that are helping us take market share from our competitors,” said his staff. “His work style is highly collaborative which inspires others to be creative and push boundaries and he consistently sees the upside. Combined with his positive attitude, he helps others see the unique opportunities and huge potential that Lifetime offers.”
According to his employees, Svedin’s accomplishments span across three key areas: Lifetime’s business success, how the company has supported the local community, and his personal achievements. The company has earned numerous rewards while increasing revenue 175% between 2018 and 2020.
“Peter is very proud of the awards and accolades we have earned over the years,” said his employees. “But, the accomplishment he is most proud of is the team he has built and nurtured.”
For his strong leadership that embraces accountability and responsibility, Svedin has been named a Titan of industry.
