Rob Carpenter

Most people would describe Rob Carpenter as a leader with a “never-quit” attitude. Carpenter would describe himself as a “geek at heart.” Both of these attributes have fueled his passion and led him to change the world through technology.

In 2012, he put his passion to paper and launched AppIt Ventures, a custom software development company that partners with firms to build cutting-edge, high-quality technologies. Because Carpenter is a lifelong learner, he followed his passion for developing revolutionary technologies and was inspired in 2017 to venture into artificial intelligence technologies. As a result, Valyant AI was born.

“As a leader, I understand my strengths and weaknesses, and I make a concerted effort to push outside of my comfort zone, hopefully inspiring others to do the same,” said Carpenter.

Stepping outside his comfort zone has proven to be the secret to his success. Within three years, Carpenter and his team at Valyant AI developed some of the world’s most advanced commercial retail deployment of enterprise AI. Currently, as the CEO of Valyant AI and the chairman of AppIt Ventures, Carpenter is now working to use conversational AI to automate customer service in physical retail locations, ultimately transforming the way customer service is done.

“By combining artificial intelligence, natural language processing and computer-generated characters, Valyant AI’s digital customer service platform integrates with existing drive-thru hardware and on premise or cloud point of sale systems to streamline the customer experience, improve employee efficiency and help address labor shortages,” said Carpenter.

Valyant AI has incorporated this technology for chains, such as Good Times Burgers & Frozen Custard and Boston Market.

“The speed and accuracy unlocked by Valyant AI’s cutting-edge platform allows Good Times to serve more customers more quickly, improving the overall customer service experience,” said Carpenter.

And, Carpenter is eager to share this knowledge with the Colorado community, and they’ve taken notice. He was named one of the top 25 most influential young professionals in Colorado by ColoradoBiz Magazine in 2013 and received the Denver Trailblazer award in 2016. Valyant AI was awarded the Modern Retail Awards’ Best In-Store Tech in 2019 and was named to Colorado Inno’s: Inno on Fire list in the AI category.

More innovation is in the works for Valyant AI, with plans to expand across Colorado and a multi-state rollout in the not-too-distant future. Carpenter’s passion is leading the way.

“As an increasing number of companies across industries seek ways to advance their operations and increase their performance, artificial intelligence is the key to improve countless aspects of modern business,” he said.

For his innovations in AI, his ability to think outside the box and his success as a leader, Carpenter has earned a spot as a Titan of industry.
